Recently just following the holiday season in January, I was driving through downtown Battle Creek and saw that in Mill Race Park there were some ice sculptures on display. I did not get some current photos of the ones from this year, but I thought I would share one of the photos from a prior year here. This is a special thing about Michigan that I love in the winter is the outdoor display of ice sculptures. It kind of says, ‘Yes, it is cold, but we are having fun anyway.’

Winter Snow Returns to Southwest Michigan
Winter snow has returned to Southwest Michigan, this time the day after Christmas. In prior years it was here at Thanksgiving, and even around October. This year we are graced with winter snow heavily for the first time this season during the week kids are off from school on winter break. What a perfect time to go out and play!
Happy Thanksgiving 2011!
Thanksgiving is a holiday which centers around re-uniting with family and friends, and giving thanks for all your many blessings. I hope all of my friends out there have a fantastic Thanksgiving holiday, and create some wonderful new memories. May the Lions win the game today, but if not, may everyone have a great time anyway! Happy Thanksgiving!
